Mrs. Dunya Samaranayake (冬雅 老师)
Founder & Academic Director
Dunya is the Founder and Academic Director of The Hanyu Academy, with over six years of experience in teaching languages and expertise in educational leadership. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education Management and Leadership (Qualifi UK) and a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Chongqing Normal University, China.
She has also earned the BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Teaching (Pearson Edexcel, UK), and a Diploma in Special Needs Education and Child Psychology (NCC Education).
Dunya holds HSK Level 6 and HSKK Advanced Level certifications and is proficient in French, reflecting her passion for multilingual education and cross-cultural communication.
Her vision for The Hanyu Academy is to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and globally focused Mandarin education that empowers learners of all ages to communicate confidently and appreciate Chinese culture.
